We had the opportunity to attend the BrickFest Live Lego event at Denver Mart being held Aug 28-30 in Denver, CO.
It was a full house with Lego cities built by all ages. People from Denver were able to display their creations. Tables were set up throughout the event for everyone to build their own creation and then display it on a group table for all to admire.
There was a mini-golf area made of - you guessed it - Legos. We enjoyed the mini-car area where teams of 4-5 people per group were challenged to build their own car in 5 minutes - to compete in a derby race. The kids loved this the best, and the lines moved really quickly. There were sets to purchase, as well as T-shirts. Mini characters as well as pieces to purchase to build you own mini-characters were available. They had a video stand with about 6 video screens to play your own Lego video games. There were a wide variety of ages there and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
It runs Aug 28-30 with different 4 hour sessions available. Check out BrickFest Live to get your tickets!
Honesty - It was a tad over priced - $5 to park, $25 to get in - and after 1.5 hours the kids were ready to go. The displays were not that exciting (maybe thinking Legoland or even the Denver Zoo displays). I don't think I could honestly tell others to spend that kind of money to build legos for an hour.
